How to cut acrylic board

Acrylic board is cut by laser engraving machine, chainsaw, hook knife and other tools.

1, laser engraving machine

Acrylic is the most commonly used carving material after wood. It is easy to cut and carve, has various shapes and sizes, and its cost is relatively low.

There are two production processes of plexiglass: casting and calendering. The plexiglass produced by laser engraving machine is mainly cast, because the matte effect produced by laser engraving machine is very white, which is in sharp contrast with the original transparent texture.

2. Chain saw

Cut with electric mill or serrated stainless steel hacksaw. When cutting acrylic board, it needs to be planned in advance, otherwise it is easy to make cutting mistakes and waste materials. When cutting acrylic board with electric mill or serrated stainless steel hacksaw, low speed cutting is needed. If the speed is too high, the acrylic board will melt.

3. Hook knife

Hand-cut acrylic board requires a hook knife, and the board is planed in advance, and then cut to half of the board with a hook knife, and then broken by hand.

Polymethyl methacrylate

The chemical name of acrylic is polymethyl methacrylate, and its light transmittance is similar to that of glass, which belongs to an important thermoplastic developed earlier. In addition, acrylic acid has good chemical stability, flame retardancy, easy dyeing and processing, and is widely used in construction industry, furniture products and sanitary ware.
