What requirements should Chinese characters meet in the Interim Provisions on the Administration of Chinese Characters in Society?

Chinese characters used in society shall meet the following requirements:

(1) Chinese characters are standardized, neat and easy to identify;

(2) The horizontal line is from left to right, from top to bottom, and the vertical line is from top to bottom, from right to left. The combination of Chinese characters and Chinese pinyin must be rampant, with accurate spelling, correct writing and correct word segmentation;

(3) Chinese Pinyin is written accurately and used with Chinese characters;

(4) If placards in public places, local famous brands, billboards and plaques of foreign-related units need to be written in foreign languages, they should be used together with Chinese characters, with Chinese characters at the top and foreign languages at the bottom, arranged in two rows, and foreign languages should not be used alone.
