Tobacco farming towns in Zhajiang Town

Zhajiang Town reported on the progress of the tobacco production work carried out by the unit since June: the party and government leaders attached great importance to it, personally investigated and planned inspections, and actively paved the way for tobacco production decisions; on June 20, the tobacco production team was established The production office immediately started publicity and mobilization, organized party members and village cadres to go out for inspections, and promptly carried out land transfer work. Currently, 11 tobacco-growing villages and 4,800 acres of tobacco fields have been implemented. It is planned to build 2 new seedling farms (i.e. seedling factories), which can provide 5,000 acres of seedlings; and 11 new baking farms (i.e. baking factories) (one in each village, with a total of 280 baking houses). At the same time, the Finance Bureau, Tobacco Bureau and other units have expressed strong financial support for Zhajiang tobacco production; in terms of curing house construction alone, the tobacco department has invested 36,000 yuan in each curing house, and a total of 10.08 million yuan will be invested in 280 of them. .

Deputy County Magistrate Chen Kai has high hopes for Zhajiang tobacco production and pointed out that we should aim at the target. In 2013, 5,000 acres of tobacco will be planted and 15,000 dans of tobacco leaves will be planted, creating conditions for the future development of tobacco towns with 10,000 acres of tobacco leaves in the county, and paving the way for our county’s 2013 "Guarantee Six and Fight for Seven" (at least complete 60,000 dans, and strive to complete 70,000 dans) ) goal, and contribute to the smooth entry into base unit counties and key tobacco growing counties across the country.

Cooperation is required. Establish a tobacco farmers' cooperative to actively provide professional services and effectively improve tobacco production efficiency. Second, scientific planning is required. Tobacco fields should be concentrated and connected to avoid mixing tobacco leaves with other crops, so as to facilitate centralized technical guidance and reduce the spread of pests and diseases. Tobacco farmers must carefully select, and select farmers who are hard-working, young, and diligent to engage in tobacco production, and effectively avoid the phenomenon of just planting and not harvesting. The business model must be reasonable, and the tobacco growing model of "a couple operating a curry house with an annual net income of 20,000 to 40,000 yuan" should be advocated. Medium tobacco growing households of 40 to 50 acres should be appropriately developed, and large households should be strictly controlled to increase tobacco production. There will be no problems in the implementation of capital, technology, and labor organization.

We must pay close attention to the present. At the end of August and the beginning of September, the establishment of the tobacco farmers' cooperative will be completed; the Tobacco Bureau will help the town purchase 7 large tractors, 4 small ridging machines, and 2 leaf shears for field plowing machinery. Before September 15, the County Tobacco Bureau will send technical forces to assist towns and villages in completing the "three connections and one leveling" project of the nursery factory.

The town has superior natural conditions such as soil and water resources, and has huge potential for tobacco cultivation. Party members and cadres in 11 villages are enthusiastic about tobacco production. The town is expected to become the largest tobacco-growing township in Hengyang County and a pearl in tobacco production in Hengyang City.
