As the eldest son of the new China, the Second Hospital has developed from the National Institute of Missile Weapon Control System Technology to the National Institute of Aerospace Defense Technology after more than 50 years of construction, with overall system technology, system research and system integration technology as the leading factor, microelectronics, optoelectronics and electromechanical technology as the foundation, and integrating development, research, production, testing and service. It is a comprehensive research institute with strong technical strength and overall advantages in the fields of weapon system, missile, precision guidance, radar detection, target characteristics and target recognition, simulation technology, military computer and software, ground equipment and launch technology and advanced manufacturing technology. The Second Hospital has 1 comprehensive departments, 8 domestic first-class professional technical research institutes, 3 factories, 6 service guarantee units and 1 civil industrial group companies. At present, there are more than 7740 employees/kloc-0, including 3846 managers, 7508 professional technicians, 6390 skilled personnel, and more than 2400 researchers and senior engineers. There are six academicians of the two academies and a large number of experts with outstanding contributions from the country. Tian Jian College of the Second Hospital has 2/kloc-0 master's programs, 3 doctoral programs and 2 postdoctoral mobile stations, and has trained a large number of high-quality talents in aircraft design, navigation, guidance and control, computer, electromagnetic field and microwave technology. The Second Hospital has five national defense science and technology key laboratories, and a large number of industry key laboratories such as electromagnetic compatibility, and 75% of the equipment and instruments have reached the international and domestic advanced level. A digital integrated environment for the flexible design and manufacture of air defense missile weapon system and perfect basic guarantee conditions such as measurement test, electromagnetic compatibility, component reliability test and software evaluation have been established, and mass production capacity has been formed. While ensuring the completion of military tasks, the Second Hospital actively explored the road of integration of defense and civilian technologies's development, relying on aerospace high technology to vigorously develop the civilian products industry and serve the national economic construction. Focus on the development of safety technology and emergency equipment, Internet of Things and information security, industrial automation and CNC machine tools, medical devices and other products. It has undertaken and successfully completed the task of building and ensuring the safety science and technology system of Beijing Olympic Games and Shanghai World Expo, made contributions to the realization of "Hi-tech Olympics", "Safe Olympics" and "Safe World Expo", and won the honorary titles of "Advanced Collective of Beijing Olympic Games" and "Advanced Collective of Shanghai World Expo" issued by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. Completed the construction and guarantee tasks of the overall public security prevention and control project in Beijing on the 60th anniversary of the National Day.
