On June 25, 1986, the 16th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Sixth National People's Congress passed and promulgated my country's first major law specifically adjusting land relations-"The People's Liberation Army and the People's Republic of China" National Land Management Law. To commemorate this day, the 83rd Executive Meeting of the State Council on May 24, 1991 decided to designate June 25 of each year, the date when the Land Management Law was promulgated, as National Land Day starting from 1991. "Land Day" is the first national commemorative publicity day designated by the State Council. China is the first country in the world to set up a special anniversary to protect land.
