How to apply for the Air Force

General middle school and high school graduates who sign up to participate in the recruitment must meet the following basic conditions:

(1) Political requirements. Meet the political assessment standards for flight recruitment, be voluntary, and have the support of your parents (guardians). Love the motherland, love the people, love the Communist Party of China, and love the people’s army.

(2) Physical requirements. The height should be between 164-185cm, and the weight should not be lower than 80% of the standard weight and not higher than 130% of the standard weight. Standard weight (kg) = height (cm)-110. The C-shaped visual acuity of both eyes is above 0.8. No vision correction surgery has been performed, and there is no color blindness, color weakness, strabismus, etc.

(3) Cultural requirements. The college entrance examination results must reach the first-tier level for unified admission in the province (autonomous region, municipality directly under the Central Government).

(4) Psychological requirements. Have a strong interest and desire in flying, quick thinking, flexible reactions, coordinated movements, strong learning ability, cheerful personality, stable mood, daring spirit, and good image and temperament.

The Air Force recruits high school student pilots generally through three levels of selection: primary selection, secondary selection, and final selection, and comprehensive selection.

1. Primary election. From October 2019 to June 2020, the flight recruitment center will work with education departments at all levels to carry out publicity campaigns, on-site and online registration, and organize basic physical condition screening.

2. Check. From January to June 2020, the recruitment center will select candidates who are expected to reach the first-tier college entrance examination based on their high school academic performance and school evaluation, and organize physical examinations, psychological selection and political assessments.

3. Select. From June to July 2020, the Air Force Recruitment Bureau will organize a physical examination and psychological selection of candidates who meet the recommended conditions to determine the list of qualified candidates.
