Innovation:
189 1 year
Dutch mechanical engineers began to produce carbon filament light sources in a former deerskin factory in Eindhoven. Among his earliest major customers, there were some early power companies, which included the provision of light sources in their energy supply contracts. These companies set high standards for product quality, which are well monitored by young companies.
1908
In the first year of entering the world market, Philips began to produce tungsten filament light sources. 19 13 years, the gas-filled "half-watt" lamp with spiral tungsten wire was put into the market. The smaller "Arga" light source 19 15 followed closely. The slogan of these years is "We have a light source suitable for every application". During this period, the company has grown into a world-scale market-oriented enterprise.
For experts, it has become a problem to choose suitable lamps from various types of light sources for application. So in 193 1, Philips opened the first lighting design consulting center in the world.
19 14 years
Philips developed the first headlight, which allows you to see the light during the day or even at night.
1924
Philips has developed a dual tungsten filament "Duplo car lamp", which makes the bulb have the functions of low beam and high beam at the same time.
1932
Philips' extensive research laid the foundation for introducing a revolutionary new light source: 1932- low pressure sodium lamp (SOX). This light source makes a wide range of road lighting both economical and feasible.
1933-"bi-arlita" light source ... The earliest modern double-helix filament lamp used for general lighting was introduced to the world market.
1934- high pressure mercury lamp or HO lamp
1938
Lipu introduced the revolutionary ultra-high pressure palace lantern. This compact high-intensity light source is very popular as a substitute for bulky carbon arc lamps in film projectors. Fluorescent lamps are also on the market at 1938. Philips once played a pioneering role.
1950
In the years after the war, the focus shifted to innovative lighting. "Use the right light in the right place" became the slogan. Product innovation is no longer the only goal; Creating the best lighting environment has also become the focus. Philips successfully took on the challenge of arousing public awareness of lighting.
1964
Philips research department replaced pure elements with inactive halogen compounds, thus starting the large-scale industrial production of halogen incandescent lamps. Two years later, Philips introduced the "cold beam" lamp for light projection for the first time, which is characterized by installing the dichroic mirror directly on the pipe wall, removing most of the heat load from the beam.
1973
Scientists at Philips have discovered narrow-band phosphors, which indicates a revolution in fluorescent lamp technology. Light sources with good color characteristics and higher light output per watt can now be produced. When efforts to save energy gain momentum, this kind of innovation becomes a driving force for a period of time. In addition, because this phosphor can withstand high radiation load, it plays a vital role in the subsequent development of all forms of compact fluorescent lamps.
1978
From fluorescent lamps with a diameter of 38 mm to fluorescent lamps with a diameter of 26 mm, Philips played a leading role in the transformation. The earliest high-frequency fluorescent lamps using electronic ballasts were introduced into the market.
1980
This new phosphor allows fluorescent lamps to be miniaturized because it has excellent performance under high radiation load. Philips was the first company to put compact fluorescent tubes into use: 1980 introduced SL lamps, and198/kloc-0 introduced PL lamps every year.
Energy-saving compact fluorescent electronic products
1982
Ford high frequency TL electronic ballast
1984
Introduction of Commercial Series Electronic Dimming Ballasts
1986
At the beginning of a new era, Philips is further seeking to develop small, multifunctional and economical light sources. 1986 introduces the Bai Zi light source. Because of its excellent color characteristics, this compact high-pressure sodium lamp with warm white light has started a new decorative and display lighting method.
1989
High frequency SOX electronic ballast (instead of inductive ballast, starter and capacitor)
1988
Philips demonstrated its "ArenaVision" floodlighting system, thus setting a new standard for advanced stadium lighting.
199 1 year
199 1 year, the earliest electrodeless fluorescent lamp came out, which generates electricity through the induction of high-frequency generators. The service life of QL induction light source reaches 60000 hours.
QL ballast, 55/85W (long life)
Compared with halogen lamps, xenon HID xenon headlights can produce three times the brightness, while the power consumption is only half. In addition, the life of xenon HID xenon headlights is five times longer than that of general halogen lamps, and it also has the characteristics of focusing light.
1992
Compared with halogen lamps, low-power light gas discharge lamps used as headlights can provide two to three times as much light, while the energy is only half. In addition, the lifetime of MPL is 5 times, which is characterized by very tight beam.
All-electronic ballast
1994
Main color lighting shows an important breakthrough, especially in shopping malls and display lighting. The main color overcomes the disadvantages of uneven color and serious color deviation during the service life of traditional metal halide lamps.
1995
TL5 system is characterized by adopting narrow tube fluorescent lamp with a diameter of only 16mm, which greatly reduces the total operating cost and saves considerable energy and materials. Because of its small size, this light source allows greater freedom and flexibility in optics and lamp design.
Ultra-high performance gas discharge lamp for liquid crystal projector with UHP
MPXL (car xenon lamp greatly improved vision, cut off the angle, and was created to emit unique cyan light)
1996
The non-dimming TL5 equipment is introduced.
