A major historical event about the 75th anniversary of Fujian Medical University?

Fujian Provincial Medical College was founded in 1937, with Hou Zonglian as the first dean, and the predecessor of the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University was the Provincial Affiliated Hospital.

From 65438 to 0939, due to the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Fuzhou was about to fall, and the school moved to Shaxian Temple, a mountain city in northern Fujian, to continue running.

1939 The school was renamed as "Fujian Provincial Medical College".

1945 After the Anti-Japanese War, the school moved back to the original site of Auspicious Mountain in Fuzhou.

1949 After the liberation of Fuzhou, the school was renamed as "Fujian Medical College" and "Affiliated Provincial Hospital" was also renamed as "Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical College".

1950, the Fujian provincial government decided to merge the affiliated hospital of Fujian Medical College with the joint hospital of Fuzhou Medical Association, and named it Fuzhou Joint Hospital, which was designated as the teaching hospital of Fujian Medical College.

1954, "Fuzhou Tuan Hospital" was renamed as "Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical College" and was affiliated to Fujian Medical College.

65438-0959 Fuzhou China Union Medical College Hospital, the predecessor of Fujian Union Medical College Hospital, officially became the affiliated hospital of Fujian Medical College.

1966 "Fujian medical college affiliated hospital" was renamed "Fujian medical college affiliated hospital of workers, peasants and soldiers" and "Fujian medical college affiliated Sheikh hospital" was renamed "Fujian medical college affiliated anti-imperialist hospital"

During the period of 1969, due to the tension between China and the Soviet Union and the need of war preparation and evacuation, the school merged with Fujian College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Huaqiao University to form Fujian Medical University, and moved to Quanzhou, and all the affiliated hospitals were cancelled.

1973, the former Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical College was officially named as the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University, and the former Second Hospital of Jinjiang District was merged into Fujian Medical University and renamed as the Second Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University.

1978 The school moved back to Fuzhou.

1982 The school was renamed Fujian Medical College.

1984 "Union Medical College Hospital Affiliated to Fujian Medical College" officially resumed.

1996 The school was renamed Fujian Medical University, and the corresponding affiliated hospitals were renamed accordingly.

In September, 2008, the school was awarded the honorary title of "Advanced Collective of Earthquake Relief in National Education System".
