China’s Arbor Day has been revised three times due to the changes of the times. In the 4th year of the Republic of China (1915), at the initiative of Sun Yat-sen, Zhou Ziqi, Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce, submitted to the quasi-president that every Qingming Festival should be the Arbor Day, designate a location, and select tree species.
