? In Hong Kong, both wild birds and ornamental birds have strict legal provisions, and all birds are protected by law. (1) No one shall slaughter any dog or cat for food, whether it is for human consumption or not.

(2) No person shall sell or use or allow others to sell or use dog meat and cat meat as food.

(3) A person who is found in possession of the carcass of any dog or cat or any part of the carcass in circumstances that reasonably lead to believe that the dog or cat is being slaughtered or has been sold or used for food only in violation of this section commits an offence under subsection (1) or (2), as the case may be, unless he can satisfy a magistrate of his facts.
