Who is the old man who planted trees in Baoshan, Yunnan?

The old man who planted trees in Baoshan, Yunnan is called Yang Shanzhou.

Yang Shanzhou (1927-20 10) was born in Shidian, Yunnan. Yang Shanzhou has been engaged in revolutionary work for nearly 40 years and served as the leader of Baoshan District Committee. He is honest, conscientious, selfless and dedicated to the people.

In order to fulfill his original promise of "doing something practical for the local people without asking for anything in return", after retirement, he voluntarily gave up the opportunity to enjoy his old age in the provincial capital, took root in Daliangshan and volunteered to plant trees. In 22 years, he built a forest farm with an area of 56,000 mu and a value of 300 million yuan, which was turned over to the state free of charge.

Daliangshan Forest Farm was renamed Shaanxi Forest Farm.

With the approval of Baoshan Municipal Committee and Municipal Government of Yunnan Province, Daliangshan Forest Farm in Shidian County was officially renamed as "Shanzhou Forest Farm". In order to better carry forward Yang Shanzhou's spirit of serving the people wholeheartedly and cherish the memory of Yang Shanzhou's touching deeds.

201010 Shidian County renamed Daliangshan Forest Farm as "Shaanxi Forest Farm", and held the renaming ceremony of Daliangshan Forest Farm and the foundation laying ceremony of Yangshanzhou Monument and Statue.
