Where is Tongguan?

Shaanxi Tongguan faces Shanxi across the Yellow River in the north, and Hangu borders Henan in the east. At the same time, the Yellow River and the Weihe River meet here, which is known as the transportation hub of the "three provinces where chickens crow and smell". After the opening of Lianhuo Expressway, Tongguan, as the east gate of Shaanxi Province, has a more important window position.

Tongguan, located in the east of Guanzhong Plain in history, is one of the most famous passes in China. The situation in Tongguan is very dangerous, with Qinling Mountains in the south, Weihe River and Luoerchuan in the north and Hua Yue in the west. Tongguan has a long history. The ancient Tongguan City was built in the Han Dynasty and is located near the former Shangyangjiazhuang in the south of the port. In the second year of Wu Zetian's natural gift (AD 69 1 year), Tongguan moved from upper north to lower north and built roads along the river, which is now Tongguan County. In order to consolidate their dominant position, rulers of past dynasties stationed heavy troops here and set up customs guards. Now the ancient Tongguan has been repaired many times since the Song and Ming Dynasties, and it is still well preserved. There is a gatehouse built in the Ming Dynasty in Ximen, commonly known as the "Bridge House", which is magnificent.
