How to raise stinky mandarin fish in Hunan Province

1. In order to ensure the survival rate of Siniperca chuatsi culture, it is required that the stocking specifications must be above 3 cm, and generally 3-4 cm Siniperca chuatsi should be stocked per mu 1000- 1500.

2. Bait fish culture in the same pond: early bait fish culture can be carried out 15 ~ 20 days before Siniperca chuatsi stocking. Generally, 500,000 to 800,000 summer flowers of Megalobrama amblycephala, Grass Carp, Silver Carp and Siniperca chuatsi are put into each mu in the early stage for feeding. At the same time, in order to reduce the cost of bait fish, some parents of fast-breeding bait fish can be mixed in the Siniperca chuatsi pond, for example, 200 ~ 400 pairs of tilapia or 500 2-year-old crucian carp can be put in each mu, so that their offspring can be eaten as live bait fish of Siniperca chuatsi. Of course, it is also possible to divide the pond into two parts with a thin net with moderate specifications, and raise the parent fish of the bait fish at the same time as raising the mandarin fish, so that the young fish can become the bait of the mandarin fish through the thin net.

3. Feeding the bait fish cultured in the special pond: During the period of high water temperature and rapid growth of Siniperca chuatsi, when the bait fish cultured in the special pond is insufficient, the bait fish cultured in the special pond can be supplemented every day. Of course, the feeding amount is based on the principle of maintaining a certain density of bait fish in the water and increasing the predation opportunity of mandarin fish. The size of the bait fish fed is 30% ~ 59% of the body length of Siniperca chuatsi, so the feeding growth and individual differences of Siniperca chuatsi should be checked frequently. In the aspect of bait fish, it is necessary to match the bait fish with different specifications in an appropriate amount to ensure that Siniperca chuatsi with different individual sizes have sufficient and delicious bait. It should be noted that the bait fish must be disinfected first.

4. Water quality control: Due to the high stocking density and large amount of bait, residual bait and a large amount of feces have great influence on the water quality of the pond. Therefore, the special pond for Siniperca chuatsi requires not only a good water inlet and drainage system, but also regular replacement of the pond water, and the minimum dissolved oxygen in the water body is above 4 mg/L during the whole feeding process, and an aerator is also needed. The start-up time of aerator should be determined according to the specific situation, and lime water should be sprayed regularly to control the water quality. Other management measures are basically the same as domestic fish farming.
