When users roam internationally, they should send short messages to mobile phone users in other countries except Chinese mainland. In addition to enabling short messages, roaming operators must also be countries that realize international short message exchange with China Unicom. When using SMS international roaming service, the number of SMS center must be set to +86 130 10240500. If it is set to 0086 130 10240500, SMS cannot be sent. After users roam to countries and regions outside Chinese mainland, the tariff standard for using international short message service shall be based on the international roaming tariff.

When sending an international short message, the content is all in English, and the calculation method is: 1 Chinese character =2 bytes, 1 English (regardless of case) = 1 byte, 70 Chinese characters are a message, and if all are in English, 140 English letters are a message. (Every 70 characters is a short message, including symbols and spaces, and every 70 characters that exceed it is counted as another short message).
