Four ways of phishing attacks

The four methods of phishing attacks are email phishing, website phishing, SMS phishing, and social engineering phishing.

1. Email phishing

E-mail is one of the most common attack methods used by phishers. They send emails with fake links, attachments, or viruses to trick users into clicking a link or downloading a file. Once users are tricked, their computers could be infected with viruses or malware, or provide sensitive information to attackers.

2. Website phishing

Website phishing means that attackers obtain users' sensitive information through fake websites. These fake websites are often similar to real websites that victims frequently use, and may even trick victims into entering sensitive information.

3. SMS phishing

SMS phishing refers to an attack that obtains user information by sending text messages disguised as legitimate. Attackers usually send text messages such as "Your account is locked, please click the link to unlock" to induce users to click on the link.

4. Social engineering phishing

Social engineering phishing refers to an attack in which an attacker obtains user information by pretending to be a trusted person or organization. Attackers can communicate with victims via social media, chat applications, or email and use a fake identity to induce them to provide sensitive information.

Methods to prevent phishing attacks

Do not leave any information online that can prove your identity, including mobile phone number, ID number, bank card number, etc. Do not transmit your private information through the Internet, including bank card numbers, ID numbers, e-commerce website accounts and other information, and do not transmit it through QQ, MSN, Email and other software.

These methods may often be used by hackers to commit fraud. Do not believe information circulating on the Internet unless proven by authoritative sources. For example, online forums, news groups, QQ, etc. often have people publishing rumors and looking for opportunities to steal users' identity information. Do not reveal your true information when registering on the website. For example, your residential address, home phone number, mobile phone number, bank account you use, consumption places you often go to, etc. Scammers may use this information to deceive your friends.
