Why can't Apple phones intercept messages with unknown numbers?

Even if you filter the unknown sender in Messages on iPhone, you may still see a notification every time you receive a text message from an unknown number. To stop this and mute annoying SMS notifications, you need quick access to the settings. Here is how to set it up.

First, open the settings on the iPhone. In Settings, scroll down and click Notifications. In the notification, click Message. In the message notification settings, scroll down to the bottom, and then click Custom Notification. In the custom notification, turn the switch next to Unknown Sender to the off position. After that, exit the settings. From now on, just enable filtering unknown senders in settings (go to Settings >; "Message", and then switch "Filter Unknown Senders" to on), when unknown senders send you short messages, you will no longer receive notifications.
