On the other hand, the cost of replacing the CTC battery pack will be very high. High, which also puts forward higher requirements for the production process of battery cells.
In order to satisfy these two points, Leapmotor adopts a "double-skeleton annular beam structure", using the body structure beam to support the strength, and the battery pack also needs to be fully self-developed to control quality. The battery cells are manufactured by CATL to ensure the consistency of the battery cells.
With CTC, the battery pack can reduce the number of parts by 25%, reduce the weight by 15kg, and increase the vehicle's cruising range by 10%. The vertical space of the vehicle body will also increase... by 10mm.
From the actual experience, this 10mm is actually not a big improvement. If the height of the rear passenger exceeds 180cm, the head will be very close to the rear windshield, which is a little uncomfortable.
But the good thing is that Leapmoon C01 does not sacrifice ride comfort in pursuit of head space.
