What's the difference between an Internet of Things card and a transportation card?

IOT card is a 2/3/4G card provided by mobile, telecom and Unicom operators. Its appearance is basically the same as that of ordinary SIM card, and it adopts special number segment to meet the needs of intelligent hardware and Internet of Things industry for equipment networking.

The Internet of Things is a network based on information carriers such as the Internet and traditional telecommunication networks, which enables all ordinary physical objects that can be independently addressed to be interconnected. It has three important characteristics: public object equipment, autonomous terminal interconnection and universal service intelligence.

IOT card service is a mobile communication access service provided by China Mobile for IOT users, and the dedicated number segments 10648 and 14765 are used as MSISDN. Support basic communication services such as SMS and GPRS through special network element equipment, and provide intelligent channel services such as communication status management and communication authentication. By default, the dedicated SMS access service number and dedicated APN of IOT are enabled.

The functions of IOT card mainly include:

1. Basic communication capabilities: GPRS communication capabilities and SMS communication capabilities. SMS can provide services with different priorities (forwarding frequency and storage time) to fully meet the needs of different group customers.

2. Terminal status inquiry: provide customers with power-on and power-off information, terminal location information, online and offline GPRS, IP, APN and other information.

3. Account information inquiry: provide customers with account information inquiry, and provide reminder functions for events such as account arrears and excessive traffic.

4. Business statistical analysis: provide users with multi-dimensional business report statistics and analysis.

5. Flexible charging function: provide various charging methods such as traffic pool and life cycle according to customer demand.
