If the identification certificate you get says "amber" or "beeswax, blood amber, Jin Po, green amber, blue amber, insect amber and plant amber", then congratulations! This is a natural untreated amber.

Amber treatment certificate

If "amber (treatment)" or "XXX amber" or "amber XXX" (XXX represents the name of the treatment method, such as dyeing, color film covering, filling, heating and pressure discoloration, etc. ) appears in the "test conclusion", which shows that it is still amber, but it has undergone an unacceptable treatment method. In the national standard (GB/T 16552-20 10 name of jewelry and jade), the treatment methods such as dyeing, color film covering, filling, heating, pressure transformation, etc. are clearly defined and listed in the "Remarks" column. Consumers should also pay attention to the handling methods when buying, which are small pieces (or fragments) of amber but reassembled.

Regenerated amber certificate

If you see the inspection conclusion duang, the alarm will sound, which means that this piece of amber is made of amber fragments or fragments by manual means, which is also often called "suppressing amber". At this point, please use the certificate to summarize the "magnification check" option, which will tell you the internal structure of this amber.

Cracked amber

As the name implies, when you see this conclusion, you must put amber back like a jigsaw puzzle. If it is in the case of "magnification inspection", it has traces of splicing. The splicing material can be partially or completely amber.

natural resin

If it is marked as "natural resin" in the conclusion of the certificate, it means that the fossil age of the sample is still very short, not reaching the level of amber, but it is natural! This is different from artificial imitation of amber.

Imitation amber

Seeing this conclusion, you can be 100% sure that it is not amber, but an artificial material that looks like amber, such as our most common plastic family.
