How do Russian soldiers compare with American soldiers?

During my stay in Kosovo, I was fortunate to cooperate with the Russian military. This is the early 2000 s, and the Soviet Union has just disintegrated. I like working with Russians, especially because unlike us, they always drink. Russians will exchange anything. If my company lets me keep it, I may get BMP. It is fun to go out with Russian soldiers. I often talk to them about hockey. I come from Detroit, and our Detroit Red Wings team is made up of many Red Army players.

On the professional level, they are almost inferior to us. The strict discipline of the American army did not appear on the Russians. We have a strong core of non-commissioned officers, which can maintain the discipline of the army. At this point, Russians seem to be more driven by officers, and soldiers do whatever they want when they are alone. Our uniforms are a good example, because we Americans all wear the same uniforms, and Russians are everywhere. Different camouflage patterns and uniform items will make the first Sargent people in America crazy. Weapons discipline is not as good as Russian soldiers throwing weapons around and often setting fires. As an American soldier, this will bring you a lot of trouble, which will cause our petty officers to do a lot of push-ups.

Russians look brave and enterprising, but they are not as self-disciplined as we are. This may be because many of them were recruited when we were all volunteers. In terms of equipment, we have a great advantage over our Russian friends. They looked at me as if we were a space force, tracking computers, GPS, thermal cameras and night vision devices. The old BMP they used was not very advanced, but they were lucky to have a radio.

I have read that Russians have made great progress, but from what we saw in the early 2000s, they can't compare with us. We just have better equipment, training and supplies. It's not the fault of ordinary soldiers, but they can only do so much with what they get. Interestingly, as soldiers, we get along well. We play football, exchange equipment and like to share drinks in the department. I really like Russians. I hope we can get along well. Russian soldiers and we will joke that every time the world faces a world war, we will fight together. Russians and Americans don't have the same cultural differences as Middle Easterners. We are actually very much alike. Our * * * just don't like each other.
