Eight regulations on drinking alcohol

Alcohol is prohibited in official activities. This is stricter than the previous "no drinking at noon on weekdays". All localities have intensified supervision and investigation of all kinds of illegal drinking behaviors of public officials. The eight central regulations were deliberated and adopted by the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on February 4th, 20th/KLOC-0th/2nd, concerning improving work style and keeping close contact with the masses.

Drinking at noon on weekdays is against the eight central regulations. Party member cadres drink alcohol at noon on weekdays, which affects the normal work efficiency of party and government organs and damages the image of the party and government. In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the eight central regulations, drinking alcohol at noon on weekdays is generally regarded as a violation of work discipline and disciplinary action is given. There is no big controversy. The disciplinary action against party member must be discussed and decided by the party branch meeting and reported to the party's grassroots Committee for approval; If the issues involved are important or complicated, or if party member is expelled from the Party, it shall be reported to the Party's Commission for Discipline Inspection at or above the county level for examination and approval according to different circumstances. Under special circumstances, Party committees and discipline inspection committees at or above the county level have the right to directly decide to give disciplinary action to party member. Warnings and severe warnings given to members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the Party shall be deliberated by the Standing Committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and reported to the Party Central Committee for approval. Warnings and severe warnings given to members and alternate members of local Party committees at all levels shall be approved by the discipline inspection committee at the next higher level and reported to the Party committee at the same level for the record.

Provisions of the Ministry of Public Security on prohibiting illegal banquets and drinking;

1. It is strictly forbidden to drink alcohol during working days, on duty, performing security tasks, traveling, studying and training, etc.

2. It is strictly forbidden to entertain each other between leading cadres and units.

3. It is strictly forbidden to accept banquets from subordinates or local public security organs.

4. It is forbidden to accept banquets from management and customers.

5. It is forbidden to enter and leave private clubs or participate in "one table meal".

6. It is forbidden to drink alcohol at any time and on any occasion.
