It is common to choose 20-year payment, and the first commission (that is, the first premium paid by the insured) is generally 30%-40%. Individual companies may be lower than this, of course. The renewal commission (premium paid in the second year) is generally 10%-20% in the second year and 5% in the third year. Many companies offer three years, and individual companies can offer five years.
