There are two kinds of invitations: one is personal, such as inviting people to dinner, attending banquets, watching movies and attending ceremonies. Another kind of invitation letter is a business letter, usually an invitation to attend meetings, academic activities, etc.

I. General Invitation Letter

The first kind of invitation is generally to invite friends and acquaintances, so the requirements for content format are relatively loose, so you can write casually. Just indicate the intention of the invitation and explain the content, time, place and so on of the activity. However, since it is an invitation letter, you must express your desire to attend or attend in the letter. This invitation can be very short. Let's take a short message inviting a movie as an example:

Dear Jane:

We have four tickets for the famous movie shown in Guangming Cinema, the longest day, Friday, the ninth. Will you join us? We will wait for you in front of the cinema at eight o'clock sharp on Friday night, so don't let us down!

Best regards.

Alice

Second, the official invitation letter

The second kind of invitation letter is usually written by the person in charge of the organizing Committee of a conference or academic activity and issued in the name of the organizing Committee. The invitee is usually a prestigious person. Therefore, the wording of this invitation should be relatively formal and the tone should be warm and polite.

This kind of invitation usually includes the following contents: first, it indicates the intention to invite the other party to participate and the name, time and place of the meeting or academic activity; Then we should praise and appreciate the prestige and academic level of the invitee, and explain that if the invitee can accept the invitation, it will bring good influence to the meeting or activity; Then explain the relevant matters of the meeting or activity, preferably to arouse the interest of the other party; Of course, don't forget to express your sincerity in hoping that the other party can participate; Finally, ask the recipient to give feedback on the invitation, such as confirming the acceptance of the invitation. The following is a letter inviting the other party to attend the academic conference:

Dear Professor Wang,

On behalf of Ohio State University and IEEE Computer Association, I am very pleased to invite you to attend and chair the 2004 International Conference on Parallel Data Processing, which will be held in Bellaire, Michigan from October 25th to 28th, 2004/KLOC-0.

Dear Professor White,

Thank you very much for your letter of August 5th, inviting me to attend and chair the 2004 International Conference on Parallel Data Processing to be held in Bellaire, Michigan from October 25th to 28th, 2004/KLOC-0.

Unfortunately, I can't accept the invitation, because I have been ill since this summer. I was strongly advised that it would be unwise to make any long-distance travel in the near future.

I feel very sad to miss the opportunity to meet you and many other people in the field of computer science. I wish the conference a complete success.

Yours faithfully,
