An Ran, a travel friend from Hunan, has traveled alone to Asian countries many times before. A photography enthusiast, she brought two cameras with her on this self-guided tour. She traveled again to Thailand and then into Iran via Kuala Lumpur. Then he went to Armenia, Karabakh (a country not recognized by the United Nations), Georgia, and finally Turkey. Currently in Karabakh.

Shariz, Nasir al-mulk, is also known as the Pink Mosque because of its bright colors.

Tingting, a travel friend from Jiangsu, has visited nearly 20 countries in Asia alone before. After staying in Xinjiang for a while, this self-guided tour entered Iran from Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, and then went to Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt, and is still here.

This self-guided tour is her longest, and she has traveled for more than 280 days so far.

Unlike us, she is clocking in to travel, but she is in no rush. Basically she will not leave when her visa expires.

She is a beautiful, strong, independent girl with many stories. Unlike other girls, her childhood and girlhood were dark. Because she is a superborn child, she has lived in her grandparents' house since she was a child. Her parents are only related by blood and receive no warmth.

As she grows older and her grandparents grow older, she knows that only through her own efforts can she repay her grandparents' kindness based on society. At the age of 20, she was eager to learn computer technology and got a very good job, earning her first pot of gold.

The year before last, she began to travel around Asia and read books that interested her. Her knowledge and vision have been greatly improved, and her English expression ability and English level have been rapidly improved. She has truly practiced "traveling thousands of miles and reading thousands of books".

As a girl who loves beauty, in her own words, traveling should be beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, and she did it. In fact, a beautiful essay should be added. She recorded her daily travel experiences with the delicacy of a girl. The writing is vivid and the information is detailed, which has a strong reference value.

1. Fly to Fancheng

April 19, 2017, 7 a.m., Ankara Esenboga Airport.

"Truck"?

The beautiful woman at the check-in counter looked at me suspiciously and asked me to show me my travel itinerary again. I handed it to her and answered with a firm "yes".

The capital of Van, Turkey, is a settlement of Kurds. The Kurds belong to the same ethnic group as the Kurds in Syria and northern Iraq. They have been seeking independence but have been suppressed by the three countries. The IS terrorist organization has links to the Kurds in Van province, where Turkey has imposed heavy pressure and has a large military presence.

Because safety is difficult to guarantee, the Turkish government originally did not allow foreigners to enter southeastern Turkey, but now it has relaxed some restrictions. However, foreigners rarely come to such a place, let alone Chinese.

As soon as I arrived at Istanbul International Airport on April 8, I received a text message from the Global Consular Protection and Service Emergency Call Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in Turkey Turkish citizens have been reminded to be cautious when traveling to Turkey in the near future and not to travel to southeastern Turkey and the border areas between Turkey and (League). Citizens and institutions in China will continue to be on high alert, strengthen security precautions and emergency preparedness, and avoid going to crowded places. In case of emergency, please call the police in time and contact the Turkish Embassy or Consulate in China," and four contact numbers were announced via text message.

I would like to remind you that my travel plans have been set long ago and will not be changed unless there are extreme circumstances. According to the original plan, after my trip to Turkey, I would transit overland from Fancheng to my next destination, Iran. This is the fastest way to leave the country, saving time and money. At the same time, taking the land route from Turkey to Iran, you have to pass through a small town called Udobayazit, where there is a very beautiful Ottoman Empire Summer Palace. I want to see it.

For this reason, after my trip to Iran, I bought air tickets from Ankara to Fancheng, China, and from Tehran to Shanghai.

Ankara Esenboga Airport.

Plans cannot keep up with changes. I saw on the Internet that a travel friend made a self-guided tour to Armenia and Georgia. Visa on arrival is available for both countries, which aroused my great interest. I decided to shorten the travel time between Fancheng and Iran and squeeze out a week to visit these two countries. It is also feasible to enter Iran by land from Armenia.

In other words, my original itinerary has not changed much. If you want to fly to Fancheng, you should also go to the Summer Palace in Douba Yazit.

In order not to miss the plane, I got up at four in the morning, walked eight miles to Red Moon Square, and took the airport bus to Ankara Airport. The above scene occurred when I was changing my boarding pass. In fact, the beauty was just curious and finally changed my boarding pass and gave me a window seat.

2. Wandering in the East

The plane took off on time at 8:30 and arrived at Fancheng Airport at 10:05. Thanks to the minibus driver, he pulled me out of the entanglement of several taxi drivers. Seeing that his bus was full of people made me feel very relieved.

I originally planned to stay in Fancheng for one or two nights, but due to changes in my itinerary, I decided not to stop in Fancheng and go directly to Dowu Bayazet. When the minibus arrived in Fancheng, the driver only charged me 2 yuan and took me to the station intersection bound for Dougbayazet. I entered the station and bought a 12 o'clock ticket for 25 yuan. You only get this once a day, and you're lucky.

The long-distance bus station from Fancheng to Daoubayazette.

It is 112 kilometers from Fan to Bayazet, and it is now half past two in the afternoon. After getting off the bus, I asked for a minibus to Ishak Ishaq Parsa Palace, but it was not available. In order to save time, I chartered a car for 35 yuan round trip. It’s too expensive and was hacked by taxis.

The Summer Palace is located on a hill 5 kilometers east of Doubayazit.

The ticket price is 5 yuan and is the last large building built by the Ottoman Empire, "Lale Devri" (Tulip Period). It is the most typical representative of Ottoman architecture in the 18th century and occupies an important position in art history.

The Summer Palace perfectly integrates the architectural styles of Seljuk, Ottoman, Georgian, Persian and Armenian, and is called by LP to show the romance in the story of "One Thousand and One Nights". In the distance you can overlook Türkiye's highest mountain, Mount Ararat with an altitude of 5137 meters. The Anatolian plains under the hillside are intertwined with the beauty of the small town. It feels like you came here specially. I am completely glad that you came.

After returning to the small town of Daoubayazit from the Summer Palace, I found a very good hotel to stay in. 40 yuan a night and three stars. Then we went to the bus station, planning to go to H0pa tomorrow. I asked a few people and they all said that there is no direct train, so I have to go to Heudre first.

After asking people along the way, I finally found the station and took some photos. This small city used to be the capital of Turkey's Aare Province, but was later moved for some reason, which may be related to the fact that it is also Kurdish.

I bought food at the market and then returned to the hotel. Didn't go out again at night. I still had to listen to reminders from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy. After all, safety comes first.

On April 20, I got up at six in the morning and had breakfast. I went to the station and took the 7 o'clock bus to Heudre (10 yuan).

In less than an hour, we arrived in Heudre and caught the 8:30 shuttle bus to Karls (one bus every day), the fare was 25 yuan.

We arrived at Kars at 1 o'clock, but not at H0pa. Opens at 9:30, once a day. I'm stuck.

The eastern region of Türkiye is relatively backward, with little mobility and underdeveloped transportation. I've realized it. I had no choice but to find a hotel to stay. The hotel was not as good as the night before and the price was 10 yuan more expensive.

With nothing to do in the afternoon, I went to Karls Castle outside the city. This ancient castle is under repair, so there are no tickets

Kars Castle is located on the hill north of Karls City and is a must-win point between the East and the West. Historically, Russia and the Ottoman Empire fought many times over this area. The terrain here is high, overlooking the mountain plains and the city of Karls, and the weather is magnificent.

3. Failed to enter the customs.

At 9:30 on April 21, I took a bus from Kars to H0pa, planning to go to Georgia through here.

The fare from Kars to Hopa is between 50 yuan and 100 yuan, and the journey is long. In fact, the bus took seven hours to arrive. There was still an hour before the bus left Hopa and the weather had changed. The bus drove slowly through the clouds with its fog lights on, and it rained all the way down the mountain. I have an ominous feeling.

I was the only one who got off the bus to go to Hopa. The driver told me the direction to the mountain pass, so I asked the minibus to stop all the way in the light rain. Huo is a small border town, but it is nearly 20 kilometers away from the real customs clearance port of Jingshi.

At 5 pm, I got on the minibus bound for Spal, which is the only port from Turkey to Georgia. Not too crowded. I successfully passed the Turkish port and followed the long tunnel to Georgia.

As the crowd moved on, I made a mistake. I ignored the two small rooms on the left and followed the crowd towards the normal passage. I thought even if I made a mistake, the staff would tell me where to apply for a visa on arrival.

When it was my turn, I said I would apply for a visa on arrival. The same goes for applying for a visa on arrival in Brunei in March. Now, the 120-hour transit sign at Kuala Lumpur AirAsia Airport is also the same as the normal transit channel, except that the 120-hour transit sign is marked at the top of the channel, whereas in the past it was clearly marked and marked at another place.

I was too naive to place my hopes on good customs services. I was wrong. After the staff took me directly to the office to inquire about the situation, they unceremoniously opened the small door and asked me to return to Turkey.

Türkiye to the port of Sbar, Georgia.

I am confused. Border control is pretty cool. Türkiye let me out. Georgia wouldn't let me in. Now we are sandwiched between two countries, with no human beings inside and outside.

I gritted my teeth and walked towards Türkiye Pass. I didn’t know what to do. Take a chance. Fortunately, the Turkish border control atmosphere, after listening to my complaints, chased me back as a loser.

When I took the minibus from Spar Port back to Hopa, it was already dark, so I found a hotel near the minibus station and stayed there, thinking about what to do next.

It was so naive, it was raining all the time, I was wet, cold and hungry, and living in a small room with no bathroom was not cheap. Fortunately, there was wifi, so I quickly went online to ask for help. Please ask my travel agency friend to apply for an electronic visa online. But it was already two or three o'clock in the morning Beijing time, so I had to wait for a reply the next day.

Sometimes people memorize until the end. At two or three o'clock in the evening, the hotel had a power outage, and there was no call until the next morning. When I went out, I saw that the whole town had a power outage. Later I learned that power outages are common here.

At noon on April 22, the power failed, so I decided to check out and find another hotel. The room rate of 50 yuan is equivalent to 100 yuan, but there is a bathroom, but there is no electricity. It wasn't until three o'clock in the afternoon that the power was finally turned on and wifi was available. I contacted a friend last night and she told me that I can only apply for electronic signature after the 27th. I was afraid that I wouldn't believe it, so she sent me the car installation diagram.

My flight back to China is an AirAsia ticket to Kuala Lumpur on the night of May 4th. Let’s not even mention how unrealistic it would be to stay in Hopa for another five days. Even if I stayed, my return trip would only be eight days away. How is it possible to travel to three countries in eight days? Now I have completely given up.

Since it is impossible, I can only go back to the earliest plan to travel between the two countries, return from Hopa to Dubayazit, and take the overland road to Iran from there. Of course, on the contrary, I felt a sense of relief. Although it failed, didn’t I go there once in eastern Turkey, where foreigners dare not come?

The hotel where H0pa stayed for the second night.

4. The small town of Hopa

On the morning of April 23, I decided to return to Bayazet in Daou and go to the bus station to buy a ticket, but there was only one bus a day , and it departs at night. Well, let me have a whole day to see this border town.

Hopa is located in northeastern Turkey, only 20 kilometers away from the Georgian border. It is an important town in northern Turkey. The vast Black Sea is just across the street facing the sea, and a sea-viewing trestle leads directly to the sea. The seaside is a coastal pedestrian avenue, which is a good place for people to relax.

The vast Black Sea

Hopa is located in northeastern Turkey, only 20 kilometers away from the Georgian border. It is an important town in northern Turkey. The vast Black Sea is just across the street facing the sea, and a sea-viewing trestle leads directly to the sea. The seaside is a coastal pedestrian avenue, which is a good place for people to relax.

The population is not large, and there are many hotels here, which are more open than other places in Türkiye. The hotel TV shows adult porn all day long, there are call girls in the hotel, and there are several nightclubs and bars in the alleys behind the street.

Check out at noon, leave your backpack at the hotel, and go to the Black Sea. Huge waves hit the shore one after another, and the rumbling sound of the waves echoed in my ears.

At 7 p.m., the night bus departs from Hopa and goes to Dubayazette. I was the only one on the bus, but my seat number was 17. Someone got on the bus along the way.

At 6:30 in the morning on April 24, the conductor asked me to get off the bus. The bus was going to transfer to a place I didn’t know. After getting off the bus, I felt something was wrong. This is completely different from the Dowu Bayazet I've been to. Just let me go with the conductor. I continued walking with hesitation, and when I met passers-by, I told them to keep walking.

When I came to a fork in the road, I saw several people waiting for the bus. It's kind of like the last time I was on the side of the road. The bus departing from 1 Qianyuan returned to the small town of Bayazette.

The town's long-distance bus station is quite far from the city, leaving enough room for the town to develop for 100 years.

After waiting for half an hour, the car has not come yet. It is cold and I am a little annoyed. At this time, a bus came and a passerby stopped it and asked me to get on the bus. I hesitated, this was not a bus. The bus was about to leave, and this passerby called me to get on the bus. I felt there was no need for anyone to hurt me, so I got in the car.

This passerby was an acquaintance with the conductor and was busy chatting. I took out 1 yuan and gave it to the conductor. He didn't take it, smiled, took the 10 yuan in his hand, and said it was given by a passerby, please give me 15 yuan.

I want to buy a luxury car. The bus fare that cost 1 yuan became 15 yuan, and I had to pay it. The bus kept moving forward, and the conductor poured me a cup of hot tea. Do you want to sit for a few minutes? You're welcome

But the bus kept driving, half an hour passed, and I still didn't see the town I was familiar with. An hour passed, my heartbeat was getting faster and faster, and I couldn't sit still anymore. I quickly went to the seat where the passerby was sitting and checked it again. The passerby’s smile was definitely correct.

After driving for another half an hour, I finally saw the long-distance bus station I had been to on the left side of the bus. I was relieved. Passers-by got off the bus at the intersection, and I quickly got off because there was no need to stop, so I waited for the real bus on the side of the road.

After waiting for two minutes, a minibus came. I got on the bus on a familiar road, took out one yuan and gave it to the driver, and arrived in Dowubayazette smoothly. What surprised me even more was that this minibus actually drove all the way to the minibus stop where I would be crossing overland tomorrow, saving me the trouble of getting off the bus and looking for the stop.

Later I found out that the destination of the night bus I took from Hopa was probably Fancheng. I was just passing by and did not drive into Doubayazit. For example, I want to go to the county seat. This bus only passed through the border of this county. How you take the car next is your own business.

Fortunately, I met a kind person on the road today. If not, how can I stop the car? And the distance is so far, it can be seen that it is difficult to get out of everything, especially in a foreign country where the language is not clear.

After getting off the bus, I successfully found the hotel where I stayed for one night last time. I stayed here all day. After a short rest, I went out again. I went to familiarize myself with the streets from the hotel to the station and bought some food.

The atmosphere today is different from a week ago. Armored vehicles are on the streets, various military vehicles can be seen everywhere, and soldiers with live ammunition can be seen everywhere. To note the location of the station, I took some street photos. After being discovered by the soldier, he called me over and looked at the photos he had just taken. They just asked me to delete them all and didn't make it particularly difficult for me.

I left quickly and found a military camp on the roadside, but I didn’t take any photos. Is it necessary to be so nervous? Somehow, I started to get nervous. I was walking on the pedestrian street. There were not many pedestrians, and their faces were relatively plain. Unlike the last time I came here, everyone greeted me.

I quickly bought something to eat and returned to the hotel. In the afternoon and evening, I barely left the hotel and took some pictures of the scenery upstairs. I turned on the TV and learned that the Turkish referendum passed. Do you think the Kurds will be happy? Soldiers to guard against them!

The mosque next to the hotel.

I took a photo of Dobaya on the roof of the hotel. The snow-capped mountain in front is Mount Ale, the highest snow-capped mountain in Turkey.

April 25, 2017 was the day when I transited from Turkey to Iran by land.

Today will be very hard, so I will get up at 6 o'clock to make breakfast. I will be very full. Depart for the minibus station at 7 o'clock. The minibus that leaves at 7:30 should not be full until after 8 o'clock. let's go!

35 kilometers from Dokubayazit to Gulbulak (Turkish border port). After paying 10 yuan for the fare, I only had three steel bungees left with me.

The minibus arrived at the port in less than an hour. Because it was too early, there was no one here except wealthy vendors. When asked, the transaction price was 3.5 million Iranian rials for 100 U.S. dollars and there was no counteroffer. I decided not to change it.

I stood at the entrance of the port, looked back at the snow-capped Ararat Mountains in the distance, and said to myself, goodbye Daoubayazit! Goodbye Türkiye!

Correction: The exchange rate is 100 US dollars to 3.2 million Iranian rial, but there is no counteroffer. I decided not to change it.

I stood at the entrance of the port, looked back at the snow-capped Ararat Mountains in the distance, and said to myself, goodbye Daoubayazit! Goodbye Türkiye!

After walking more than 200 meters, we arrived at the Turkish border inspection. Only one window is open. The border inspector took my passport, looked through it again, and asked me some questions. I excused myself by saying I didn't understand English. In fact, I knew he was asking me, you got an exit stamp from Turkey, why are you still in Turkey?

I picked up the phone at the border and called. He probably hit the port of Spar, which is thousands of miles away, because I left Turkey there and then failed to cross the border back to Turkey. This call lasted for more than ten minutes, and I was neither anxious nor nervous. I have an Iranian visa and I'm afraid you won't let me go.
