What information do I need to apply for a bank account for studying in Japan?

Japanese bank card account opening method:

When opening an account for the first time, you must first fill in the necessary items in the "Application for Ordinary Deposit". Fill in the address, name and deposit amount of the day on the form (1 yen is also acceptable), and then stamp it. If you don't have a seal, you can also sign it. Don't forget to bring the foreigner's login card or passport to prove your identity.

The bank has multiple counters. Please open an account in the "New Regulations" window. You can get the passbook on the spot after opening an account. You can also apply for a bank card when you open an account. General bank (counter) business hours are from 9: 00 am to 3: 00 pm from Monday to Friday. If you have a bank card, you can use ATM to withdraw money from Monday to Friday, and you can use ATM from Saturday and Sunday to 5 pm (available time varies). But after 6 pm from Monday to Friday, after 2 pm on Saturday and all day on Sunday, you need to pay the handling fee.

You need to set a 4-digit password to apply for a bank card. You need to enter this password to use the bank card in the future. It usually takes one week from application to bank card completion. After the completion, the bank will mail it back and there is no need to pick it up.

Ordinary deposit account: a deposit account with no term and free access.
