Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology starts in 2023

General undergraduate programs are from August 24 to August 25, 2023; general associate degree programs and second bachelor's degree programs are from August 19 to August 20, 2023. When registering, you need to bring the admission notice, college entrance examination admission ticket, paper portfolio, party and league relations, ID card, 1-inch and 2-inch photos, household registration transfer (voluntary transfer) and other materials.

Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology is a multi-disciplinary university featuring metallurgy, mining, coal, and rare earths and focusing on engineering. It is a pilot unit for the reform of the university management system in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The school is located in Baotou City. The current party secretary Cheng Tao and the principal Ren Huiping are present. The school motto is "Steel is made through a hundred attempts".

According to the official website in September 2022, the school has 20 teaching units such as colleges, departments, and centers, 4 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 18 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and second-level discipline authorization points. There is 1 master's degree program in level disciplines and 12 professional master's degree authorized fields. There are 66 undergraduate majors, 9 provincial and ministerial key disciplines (including training), 1 collaborative innovation center established by the province and the ministry, and 1 national and local joint engineering research center.

The province and ministry have established 1 national key laboratory cultivation base, 5 academician expert workstations, 1 Inner Mongolia science popularization base, 1 Inner Mongolia industrial design center, 1 Inner Mongolia philosophy and social science research base, There are 2 autonomous region productivity promotion centers, 2 national-level "Undergraduate Teaching Project" off-campus practical education bases for college students, 10 provincial and ministerial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, and 1,419 full-time teachers.

The predecessors of Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology were Baotou Iron and Steel Industry School and Baotou Construction Engineering School founded in 1956. They were affiliated to the former Ministry of Metallurgical Industry. In 1958, the two schools merged to form Baotou Institute of Technology. In 1960, it was renamed Baotou Iron and Steel. The college was placed under the management of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in 1998 and implemented central and local joint construction. In 2000, the Inner Mongolia Coal Industry School was merged and renamed Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology in 2003.
