Transportation Overview

It is located in the southeast corner of Jimei, covering an area of ??nearly 9,000 square meters. It was originally a small island on the southeast coast of Jimei. There was a small temple on the island called Aotou Palace, also known as Li Qian Palace. It was built in 1950 by Teacher Tan Kah Kee in ten years. It consists of three parts: the porch, Jimei Liberation Monument and Tan Kah Kee Mausoleum.

The design of the entrance hall is exquisite and free, and the walls of both sides are carved with serial group sculptures. In the center of the park stands the "Jimei Liberation Monument", with Chairman Mao Zedong's inscription on the front and teacher Tan Kah Kee's on the back. The entire monument is 28.6 meters high and is made of granite. The base has two levels, with eight steps on the lower level and three steps on the upper level. It symbolizes the eight years of the Anti-Japanese War and the three years of the Liberation War, and is surrounded by green stone pillars.

On the south side of the monument is the mausoleum of Teacher Tan Kah Kee, which is now a national key cultural relic protection unit. The tombstone is made of terrazzo granite and is engraved with golden official script. The tomb is in the shape of a long-lived turtle and the tomb is in the shape of a horseshoe. The top cover is made of thirteen terrazzo blue barrel stones. The left, right and back sides of the tomb are covered with bluestone screen walls. There are fifteen relief portraits of Tan Kah Kee's important experiences in the first half of his life. The memorial pavilion in front of the tomb and the screen wall behind the tomb are all carved in bluestone, which are elegant and solemn. There are three types of stone carvings in Aoyuan: relief carvings, shadow carvings and stele carvings.
