Mazu was born. Mazu was born on March 23rd, the first year of Stegosaurus in Song Taizu (AD 960), and ascended to heaven on September 9th, the fourth year of Yongxi in Song Taizong (AD 987). People generally call it Mazu, and the place for her is called Tianhou Palace. The title of Tianhou was sealed in the 23rd year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (AD 1648). Buddhism classifies her as a boy around Guanyin.

Maureen died at the age of 28. Since then, sailors have said that Maureen often wears red clothes to fly on the sea to help those in distress and cry for help.

At first, its followers were only distributed on the southeast coast. Later, with the worship and praise of emperors in past dynasties, Mazu was promoted from a folk god to an official patron saint of navigation, and its deity became higher and higher, and its spread became wider and wider. From Putian to the inland, to Tianjin in the north, to Nanyang in the south, to Sichuan in the west, and to Taiwan Province Province and Japan in the east, Mazu has gradually become the patron saint of outsiders.
