In River of Sorrow, why did the newly played Gu Senxi risk his life to save Yi Yao?

After watching the whole movie, I think the most sad thing for everyone is the heroine Yi Yao, because in the movie, she suffered from school violence. At the end of the movie, Yi Yao couldn't stand the school violence and jumped into the river. Because she really didn't kill Gu Senxiang, but they didn't believe it, including Qi Ming and Gu Senxi. Although Gu Senxi used to be generous and easy to get away, this matter is different after all. The dead man was his own sister. Even if there is no misunderstanding, he must be very sad. But even so, Gu Sensi was the first to defend Yi Yao when she was bullied. It must be because he likes her, because besides this reason, he can't think of anything more worthy of everyone's trust, but except Gu Sensi and Yi Yao, after Yi Yao jumped into the river, Gu Sensi followed Yi Yao to save her.

Gu Senxi risked his life to save Yi Yao for many reasons. The first reason is that Gu Senxi must still believe in Yi Yao.
