How to publish an MVC 3 application to a virtual host

First, log in to the Alibaba Cloud website and enter the host console. If the MVC version we use is 4.0 or above, then set the .net framework version to V4.0/V4.5 (integrated) in the .net version setting of the host console. Note that classic mode cannot be selected because in this It does not support some features of the higher version of MVC in mode, causing our website to not run properly.

Open our ASP.NET MVC application solution, select the project we want to publish, right-click the menu, click the publish button, and the publish web form will pop up.

First, set up the configuration file. Select the New button from the drop-down list in the Configuration File tab, enter a name for the configuration file, and confirm.

Next, enter the Connection tab and select the FTP publishing method in the publishing method. Enter the server address (IP address) and username and password of the FTP server (provided when purchasing the host on Alibaba Cloud), and click the Next button.

Next, select whether to publish the Release version or the Debug version in the Settings tab, and then click the Publish button to publish our MVC application to the virtual host ( FTP server), thus completing the website publishing.
