For general traffic accidents, if the facts are simple and the responsibilities are clear, the traffic police in charge of handling them can issue a traffic accident confirmation on the same day or the next day. If the accident causes casualties and other consequences, it is necessary to investigate the scene and carry out relevant technical appraisal. In this case, the traffic police department can issue the accident responsibility confirmation within 15 working days. When a particularly serious and complicated traffic accident occurs, there are many complicated technical means such as exploration, visit and appraisal, so it is difficult to judge the time when the specific accident responsibility certificate is issued. However, in most cases, within 15 working days, the traffic police will issue the accident responsibility confirmation to both parties. Legal basis: According to Article 93 of the Regulations for the Implementation of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, the traffic administrative department of the public security organ shall make a traffic accident determination within 10 days from the date of on-site inspection. If inspection and appraisal are needed, the traffic accident identification shall be made within 5 days from the date when the inspection and appraisal results are determined. "Procedures for Handling Traffic Accidents" Article 39 If the traffic administrative department of the public security organ needs to conduct inspection and appraisal on the physical and mental condition, personal injury, corpse, vehicle and its speed, traces, articles and road conditions at the scene, it shall assign or entrust professional and technical personnel and qualified appraisal institutions to conduct inspection and appraisal within five days from the date of on-site investigation. The inspection and appraisal shall be completed within twenty days; If an extension is needed, it may be extended for ten days with the approval of the traffic administrative department of the municipal public security organ with districts. If the inspection and appraisal period exceeds the time limit, it must be reported to the traffic management department of the public security organ of the provincial people's government for approval. As can be seen from the above provisions, the entrusted appraisal of the survey site is within 5 days, and the inspection and appraisal time is generally within 20 days. Under special circumstances, it can be extended by 10 day, and the accident certificate will be issued within 5 days after the inspection and appraisal results are confirmed. Therefore, the total time for accident identification does not exceed 40 days.
