Destination address translation, snat, redirection, address mapping, nat, can you tell the difference between them?

Let's give an example to illustrate. Now suppose there is such an environment:

Web server -NAT router-internal client.

220.97. 167.5: 2 18. 13.4.2 192.5438+068.7.8.

Within: 192. 168.7.4338+0.

As shown in the above figure (really not easy to draw), when the internal client sends a request to the Web server, the original source address is 192. 168.7.8, and the target address should be 220.97. 167.5. However, after NAT router conversion, the original address will become 2 18. 13.4.2, and the target address will still be 220.97. 167.5.

On the other hand, the Web server will respond to our request, so the source address will be 220.97. 167.5 and the target address will be 192.5438+068.7.8. Similarly, the NAT router will also handle this request, the source address is192.168.7.1,and the destination address is 192. 168.7.8.

In fact, the transmission of data in the network is always two-way, so the NAT router will convert the source addresses of the requesting and responding devices at the same time to achieve the routing purpose.
