Recently, police in Changzhi, Shanxi Province successfully detected a case of excavating an ancient tomb and arrested three suspects, three of whom confessed to excavating an ancient tomb with an excavator.

On June 24th, Changzhi Suburb Branch received a report that an ancient tomb in Houxizhuang Village was stolen. After receiving the report, the task force quickly launched an investigation. After 20 days of continuous attack, on July 13, the suspects Kang, Song and Chang were arrested one after another. After trial, the three men confessed to the case of stealing the ancient tomb with an excavator, and the case is under further trial.

It is reported that being buried by tomb robbers belongs to the tombs of Song, Yuan and Ming dynasties. At present, the police have not announced who the owner of the cemetery is. However, according to the police, these cemeteries are of high scientific and historical value.

Article 328 Crimes of excavating ancient cultural sites and ancient tombs Whoever excavates ancient cultural sites or ancient tombs with historical, artistic and scientific value shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than 10 years and shall also be fined; If the circumstances are relatively minor, they shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years, criminal detention or public surveillance, and shall also be fined; Under any of the following circumstances, he shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than 10 years or life imprisonment, and shall also be fined or confiscated:

(1) Excavating ancient cultural sites and ancient tombs that have been designated as national key cultural relics protection units and provincial cultural relics protection units;

(two) the ringleaders of the theft and excavation of ancient cultural sites and ancient tombs;

(three) repeatedly excavating ancient cultural sites and ancient tombs;

(four) excavating ancient cultural sites and ancient tombs, stealing precious cultural relics or causing serious damage to precious cultural relics.
