Sanya's caves are located at the foot of Nanshan Mountain, 40 kilometers west of Sanya. Sanya, founded in the Southern Song Dynasty (A.D. 1 187), is a scenic spot with a long history in Hainan Province and the southernmost Taoist cultural tourist resort in China.
