What if I forget my mobile phone password?

If you use a Huawei mobile phone, if you confirm that you have forgotten your mobile phone password and need to unlock it, we can help you restore the factory settings of your mobile phone. However, the data in the mobile phone will also be emptied and cannot be recovered. I suggest you recall whether you have backed up your mobile phone data through cloud backup or other means. It is also recommended that you carefully recall whether the password has been set/modified. If it is determined that the password cannot be recalled, the factory settings need to be forcibly restored. Please follow the following steps:

A. the phone is turned off and the USB cable is not connected. Press and hold the power button and the volume up button at the same time, wait for 5 seconds after the phone vibrates and enter the recovery mode.

Warm reminder: Mate 30 Pro, Mate 30 RS and Mate 30 Pro all have no physical volume buttons. Press the power button 5 times to enter the recovery mode after the phone starts shaking.

B. Select to press the volume up and down keys to clear the data, and press the power button to confirm (some products support the restored touch screen operation, and click the touch screen to select the operation);

C. Press the volume up and down keys, select to restore the factory settings, and press the power button to confirm;

Warm reminder: Some models need to enter "Yes" for secondary confirmation before returning to factory settings, and you can complete it according to relevant prompts.

D. After the factory settings are restored, the mobile phone will return to the recovery interface. Click to restart the device.

If you enter the activation interface after restarting, it is because you have turned on the function of finding my mobile phone, and you can enter the system normally by entering the correct Huawei account password. If you forget the password of Huawei account, please click Retrieve. If the previous Huawei account has been cancelled (once the Huawei account is cancelled, all data will be deleted and cannot be recovered), you will not be able to log in to the Huawei account again to use the mobile phone. It is recommended that you take the purchase invoice to Huawei Customer Service Center for processing.

If you log in to a Google account, you will be asked to verify the account password after the factory settings are forcibly restored. Please enter the password of your previously logged-in account to start normally. If you forget your Google account password, please follow the steps of forgetting your password to restore your Google account details.

For the sake of protecting users' privacy and security, Huawei mobile phones encrypt data through a screen lock password based on an irreversible algorithm, and no back door is reserved. Once the screen lock password is set locally, all the information in the mobile phone will be encrypted and protected with the screen lock password. Huawei mobile phones do not have the function of automatically setting/modifying passwords, and as a mobile phone manufacturer, they have no right to crack users' passwords in any way, otherwise consumers' privacy and information security will not be guaranteed.
