The latest notice from the Education Bureau about the start of school is as follows:

1. The start of the fall semester.

For kindergartens, compulsory education schools, and ordinary high schools, teachers and staff will register on August 28, students will register on August 29 and 30, and classes will officially begin on September 1. The morning class time for primary schools is generally not earlier than 8:20, and for secondary schools is generally not earlier than 8:00.

2. Winter vacation time.

The winter vacation for kindergartens and compulsory education schools starts on January 12th, and the winter vacation for ordinary high schools starts on January 16th.

3. Spring semester start time.

For kindergartens, compulsory education schools, and ordinary high schools, teachers and staff will register on February 6, students will register on February 7, and classes will officially begin on February 8. The third grade of high school will officially start classes on January 30.

4. Relevant requirements.

All units are requested to conscientiously implement calendar arrangements, and are not allowed to adjust holidays and school start times at will. They must scientifically arrange the teaching progress of the semester to ensure that all work is carried out in an orderly manner. In the event of extreme weather or other special circumstances, the Municipal Education Bureau will make timely adjustments based on the actual situation, and specific arrangements will be notified separately.
