Why is the 2G network displayed on my mobile phone?

If you use a Huawei mobile phone, there are many reasons why the mobile phone has no 4G signal but only 2G signal. Please check according to the following methods:

1. When the telecom card is used as a supplementary card, you cannot register the 4G network.

If you have a telecom card as a secondary card and no 4G signal:

(1) Please confirm whether your mobile phone supports dual-card 4G and telecom VoLTE functions;

(2) It is recommended that you open the secondary card VoLTE function. When the VoLTE function is enabled, the HD icon will be displayed in the status bar above the phone.

Warm reminder:

(1) Please enter "Settings", enter "Dual Card" in the top search bar, click SIM card management to jump to the SIM card management interface, and make sure that the dual card 4G switch is turned on. (If the search result is empty, it means that your model has turned on the dual-card 4G function by default, and no operation is required. )

(2) For mobile phones with EMUI11.0 or above, after inserting two telecom cards, if the VoLTE function of the secondary card is not turned on, the notification bar will prompt "Contact the operator to turn on the VoLTE function for normal calls".

2. If you are dual-card, and the main card has no 4G signal, please confirm whether the auxiliary card is receiving MMS.

If the secondary card encounters the problem of receiving SMS and MMS, the primary card will display 2G:

(1) You can enter the information interface, and click three or four buttons to enter more >; Settings > Advanced or Settings > Advanced, and then set the automatic downloading of multimedia messages to off.

After selecting Close, when the secondary card receives the multimedia message, you can manually click to download the multimedia message when the primary card is not online.

(2) If your mobile phone supports dual VoLTE communication, it is recommended that you turn on the dual-card VoLTE function: when the dual HD icon is displayed in the status bar of the mobile phone within the coverage area of VoLTE network, both cards can work at the same time.

Warm reminder: You can call Huawei's customer service hotline (950800) to find out whether your mobile phone supports dual VoLTE function.

Please check whether the 4G switch is turned on.

(1) When installing a single card: Please slide down from the top of the phone screen to open the shortcut menu, and press and hold the mobile data icon to enter the setting interface.

Tips: If the 4G switch or network mode option is not turned on, it means that 4G is turned on by default, and there is no need to set it.

(2) When installing the dual card: Please open the settings of the mobile phone, enter the Enable Dual Card 4G click jump in the top search bar, and turn on the Enable Dual Card 4G switch.

Tips: If the search result is empty, it means that dual-card 4G has been turned on by default, and no setting is required.

Please check whether your mobile phone card is abnormal.

(1) If your mobile phone card is cut manually, it may affect signal reading due to irregular shape and poor contact. It is recommended that you bring your personal ID card to the operator's business hall to apply for a standard mobile phone card.

(2) The dirty or oxidized mobile phone card will also affect the reading of signals. I suggest you keep your mobile phone card clean.

5. Please try to move the current position.

You can consult the network coverage of local operators, or use the SIM card of the same operator to observe the surrounding mobile phone networks. If there is no 4G network, it is generally caused by poor and unstable coverage of the 4G network of local operators. I suggest you move to another place and try again.

6. Please restart your phone or try switching flight modes.

The special configuration of some networks may cause your mobile phone to be unable to return to the 4G network in a short time, so it can be restored after restarting the mobile phone or switching flight modes.

7. It is recommended to reset APN and try again.

Incorrect APN settings will affect the normal use of the network.

I suggest you open the settings, enter APN in the top search bar, click APN to jump to the mobile data settings interface, then click APN, then click the three buttons in the upper right corner, and select Try to reset to the default settings.

8. Please restore the network settings and try again.
