How to pay legal fees

The legal fees shall be paid as follows:

1. After accepting the case, the court will issue a notice of accepting the case, with the payable fees and bank account number on it, and stipulate that it should be paid within seven days;

2. After the parties pay the acceptance fee in the bank, they can hand over the relevant documents issued by the bank to the court. Litigation expenses are the expenses paid by the parties to the people's court for civil litigation. Legal fees include fees for accepting cases and other expenses required for litigation. The case acceptance fee refers to the litigation fee that the plaintiff or appellant should pay to the people's court in advance according to a certain amount or proportion when the people's court decides to accept the prosecution or appeal. Specific charges can be asked to the people's court. In non-property cases, the parties shall pay the cost of copying the trial materials and legal documents, and generally do not bear other litigation costs. The parties to a property case shall pay the following litigation fees in addition to the case acceptance fees: inspection, appraisal, announcement and translation fees. These fees are calculated and paid according to the charging standards of relevant state departments. Transportation, accommodation, living expenses and lost time for witnesses, experts and translators to appear in court on the date determined by the people's court. These expenses should also be calculated and paid according to the relevant provisions of the state, not according to the actual expenditure.

Legal basis: Article 12 1 of the Civil Procedure Law of People's Republic of China (PRC).

When a party conducts a civil lawsuit, it shall pay the case acceptance fee in accordance with the regulations. In addition to paying the case acceptance fee, property cases also pay other litigation fees in accordance with regulations.

If it is really difficult for the parties to pay the legal fees, they may apply to the people's court for deferment, reduction or exemption in accordance with regulations.
