Take bus No.22 at the entrance of Luxiang Hotel and get off at Zhongshan Road, which is the ferry. Go to Gulangyu by boat. When Gulangyu comes back, take the 1 bus and get off at Xiamen University. The entrance of Xiamen University is Baicheng Beach, and the road between Xiamen University and the beach is the island road. You can go straight along the island road and enjoy the scenery along the way. If you are tired, you can come back. Take bus No.22 back to Hunan at Xicun Station of Xiamen University or the battery station next to Baicheng.
