Through the marketing course, we understand the definition, concept and importance of marketing. Here, I try to report what we have learned and why we should learn marketing.

1. What is marketing?

There are many different definitions of marketing. We can give the following examples:

"All-round function of connecting business with customer needs, so as to deliver the right product to the right place at the right time"

"Achieve enterprise goals by meeting and exceeding customer needs better than competitors"

A management process that effectively and beneficially identifies, predicts and meets customer needs.

"Marketing can be defined as a series of human activities aimed at promoting and perfecting exchange"

These definition are all correct. They all try to embody the essence of marketing:

* marketing is to meet the needs of customers;

* Marketing is a function within the scope of business, and it does not operate independently of other business activities;

* Marketing is about knowing customers and finding ways to provide products or services that customers need.

2. Marketing concept and positioning

It is a basic concept of marketing that an organization survives and prospers by meeting the needs of customers. This important perspective is what is usually called the marketing concept.

The marketing concept is to match the company's capabilities with the needs of customers. This matching process takes place in the so-called marketing environment.

Enterprises do not conduct marketing activities alone. They face threats from competitors and changes in the political, economic, social and technological environment. All these factors must be taken into account, because an enterprise tries to match its capabilities with the needs of its target customers.

An organization that adopts the concept of marketing accepts the needs of potential customers as the basis of its operation. Success depends on meeting customer needs.

3. Why do you want to learn marketing?

After considering the definition of marketing, you can understand why marketing research is related to some obvious reasons. In this section, we will discuss several reasons why people should study marketing that may not be obvious.

The field of marketing provides interesting and challenging career opportunities, such as personal sales, advertising, packaging, transportation, warehousing, market research, product development, wholesale and retail. In addition, many individuals who work for non-commercial organizations are engaged in marketing activities. Marketing techniques are used to promote political, cultural, church, civic and charitable activities. Whether a person makes a living through marketing activities or conducts marketing activities for free in a non-commercial environment, marketing knowledge and skills are valuable assets.

A commercial organization must sell products to survive and develop. Marketing activities directly or indirectly help to sell an organization's products. By doing so, they generate financial resources that can be used to develop innovative products. The new product allows the company to better meet the changing needs of customers, which in turn makes the company generate more profits.

Our highly complex economy relies heavily on marketing activities. They help to create profits, which are not only vital to the survival of individual enterprises, but also vital to the health and ultimate survival of the whole economy. Profit is very important to economic growth, because without profit, it is difficult (if not impossible) for enterprises to buy more raw materials, hire more employees, attract more capital, and create more products, so as to obtain more profits.
