What is smoked herring?

Smoked herring is a related fallacy. Herring has a strong smell. If dragged on the road, it will make the hounds leave the original road and follow the trail of herring in vain. Herring just shifted its attention to irrelevant places. The premise of related fallacies seems to be related to the argument, which may cause psychological buzz, but it is actually irrelevant.

Example: "You told me that texting while driving was dangerous, but I've seen you do it." The premise (I've seen you do it) has nothing to do with the argument (is it dangerous to text while driving).
