Do major criminal cases have to be reported by the police?

The public security organs will select some major criminal cases for publicity according to the needs of handling cases or the social impact of cases. The vast majority of criminal cases are investigated by public security organs, and very few cases are investigated by procuratorates. Here, we only talk about public security investigation.
