The ranks of officers in China People's Liberation Army are divided into three grades: 10, namely, officer level 3 (general, lieutenant general and major general), school officer level 4 (senior colonel, colonel, lieutenant colonel and major) and junior officer level 3 (captain, lieutenant and second lieutenant).

According to the military service and technical characteristics of officers, the ranks of naval aviation officers and professional technical officers are respectively named as "navy", "air force" and "professional technology".

The current ranks of officers are compiled according to ranks:

Professional and technical officers, senior professional and technical positions are at least lieutenant general, intermediate professional and technical positions are senior colonel to captain, and junior professional and technical positions are lieutenant colonel to second lieutenant.

Volunteer soldiers are divided into: senior non-commissioned officers (six local officials and five non-commissioned officers); Intermediate noncommissioned officers (fourth-grade noncommissioned officers and third-grade noncommissioned officers); Junior noncommissioned officers (second-class noncommissioned officers, first-class noncommissioned officers). Compulsory military service soldiers are the highest ranks. The navy and air force soldiers are preceded by the words "navy" and "air force" respectively.

(1) general officer

In addition, the Lieutenant General is also an auxiliary rank officer in the Zheng Da Military Region and the Zheng Jun Military Region.

(3) Major-General of the Army: He is the full rank among the officers with full and deputy ranks in the Army. Among them, military positions include the commander and political commissar of the group army, the commander and political commissar of the provincial military region and the corps-level garrison, and other officers; Deputy military posts include deputy commander, deputy political commissar, chief of staff, director of the political department of the group army, deputy commander, deputy political commissar, chief of staff, director of the political department of the provincial military region and other deputy military posts. Also known as "post rank" and "honorary promotion", it means that an officer wears a rank mark according to his position, and he wears a rank mark corresponding to any position. When his position drops, his rank will also drop, his position disappears, and his rank will not count.

Temporary rank, derived from "honorary promotion" (Brevet) and Latin brevis (short life). As early as 1600, the British used the word "honorary promotion", which means to temporarily increase a person's power as a reward for his ability, but not to raise his salary. With the promotion of reputation, the British are also called "honorary classes" and "extra-title classes". The United States implemented the reputation promotion system in the civil war of the 1960s from 65438 to 2009. At the end of the war, george Armstrong custer was promoted to the rank of Major General (temporary rank), but his official rank (permanent rank) was still captain. In India, the temporary level is called the "agent level", and the temporary level one level higher than the permanent level can receive a monthly subsidy of 50 rupees. In old China, the temporary rank was called "additional rank". The Beiyang government stipulated the rank of general, and the National Government stipulated that under certain conditions, it could be awarded as an additional rank (temporary rank) to officers who might be officially promoted to this rank in the future, but the additional rank only wore the rank mark, and other treatments were still carried out according to the original rank. 1986, Czechoslovakia stipulated in the revised law that a soldier can be temporarily awarded a rank higher than his actual rank when his position or service needs it, but this should not be used as a basis for asking for adjustment of service income.
