How many airports are there in Hangzhou?

Hangzhou, referred to as "Hangzhou" for short, is the capital and sub-provincial city of Zhejiang Province, located in the southeast coast of China, the northern part of Zhejiang Province, the lower reaches of Qiantang River and the southern end of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It is the political, economic, cultural, educational, transportation and financial center of Zhejiang Province, one of the central cities of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, a node city of the Yangtze River Delta Ning Hang eco-economic belt, one of the important e-commerce centers in China, and a new first-tier city.

China is one of three cities with dual airports, including Shanghai, Beijing and Nanjing. The airport here refers to civil airports, excluding military and military-civilian airports. Hangzhou will build a second airport, becoming the fourth city with dual airports in China.

A few days ago, Hangzhou Planning Bureau officially released the regulatory detailed planning of PY-04 unit (Jingshan South) of Pingyao Group.

It is planned to make use of convenient external traffic conditions such as the Second Ring Expressway, realize the orderly and coordinated development of the planning unit with large areas such as Dajingshan National Park and Chengxi Science and Technology Corridor through the rational layout of land use and the improvement of road system, and gradually turn the planning unit into a comprehensive functional block integrating ecological conservation, industrial development and livable tourism. Among them, the biggest highlight is that the reserved business airport is clearly marked in the plan. As can be seen from the figure, the reserved business airport is located on the east side of the intersection of Jingxi 15 Road and Dongle Road.

According to the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Transportation, Chengxi General Airport and Hangzhou West Railway Station are about 10 km, covering an area of 660,000 square meters, with a total investment of about 2 billion yuan. At present, the idea is to study and plan the construction of a general airport to undertake other flight tasks except passenger and freight transportation, such as business travel, aviation tourism, air show, aerial photography, aerial mapping, agriculture and forestry spraying, etc. And then study and improve for a long time.

Once implemented, Hangzhou will have a southeast airport and a northwest airport. The Hangzhou Municipal Transportation Bureau even revealed that "the airport will not be upgraded in the future as a supplement to Xiaoshan Airport."
