Article 136 of the Civil Procedure Law: When trying a civil case, the people's court shall notify the parties and other participants in the proceedings three days before the hearing. Article 182 of the Criminal Procedure Law: After the people's court decides to hold a court session, it shall determine the members of the collegial panel and serve a copy of the indictment of the people's procuratorate on the defendant and his defender at least ten days before the court session.

According to article 15 1 of China's Criminal Procedure Law, the notice of hearing should be delivered at least 3 days before the hearing. When the notice of hearing is served according to law, it is legally binding on the addressee. They must appear in court at the time and place specified in the notice and shall not be absent without reason.
