Painless gastroscopy process in the Third Hospital of Beijing Medical University

When I started drinking coffee a few years ago, I had stomach cramps and occasionally heartburn needles. A few months ago, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my tail after eating, and I felt serious. I should go to the hospital to see what happened. Because I work on the Internet, my diet is often irregular, and I have a history of stomach trouble at home, so gastroscopy is inevitable.

I made a painless gastroscope (general anesthesia gastroscope), and I wrote down the process, hoping to help the people who did it later.

I hung up the examination in the Department of Gastroenterology, and the doctor suggested a gastroscopy for diagnosis. Ordinary painless, the doctor advised me to do ordinary, because the appointment is faster (1~2 weeks can start), and I am still young, so I should be able to handle it. However, after discussing with my family, I decided to have a painless gastroscope (need to wait in line 1 month or more). Because I didn't want to toss, many people on the Internet vomited more seriously after having an ordinary gastroscope, so I asked the doctor to open a painless gastroscope.

On the same day, the doctor will make an appointment for a gastroscope and some preoperative checklists, including X-ray, B-ultrasound (whether the lower abdominal organs are normal), electrocardiogram (whether it is suitable for general anesthesia) and blood test (excluding the possibility of hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and AIDS syphilis). X-ray electrocardiogram and blood test can be done on the same day, and B-ultrasound usually needs an appointment, which may take a week to complete.

Calculate the date of B-ultrasound, and put an approximate number of the digestive department on that day, as long as the approximate number is enough. I hung up the expert number of Professor Ding Shigang, which is actually unnecessary, because I just went to the 1# clinic to check the results and confirmed that I can do gastroscopy, and I don't need to make a definite diagnosis.

After B-ultrasound, take all the results to the gastroenterology department 1# consulting room and ask the doctor to confirm that gastroscopy can be done. After the doctor confirms, you can make an appointment for gastroscopy at the next triage desk. After a month's arrangement, I changed the first appointment form to another one, which wrote the specific precautions of gastroscope.

The date written on the reservation form is valid, and the specific time schedule should be arranged by the hospital. The Third Hospital of Beijing Medical University will send you a short message in a few days, telling you to check the schedule of the day, and you need to reply with your name to confirm the short message.

On the day of examination, you need to bring the card, ID card (ID card, social security card, which seems useless) and all the preliminary examination results of the Third Hospital. On the same day, you need to be accompanied by your relatives (general anesthesia gastroscope must be accompanied) and go to the "Outpatient Medical Records" window on the second floor of the outpatient building of the Third Hospital of Beijing Medical University. The doctor at this window starts work at 7: 30, so you can wait 10 minutes earlier. The operation is very fast. Just look at your appointment list and see if there are any big medical records before. If so, I'll give you the previous medical records. If not, I will give you a new brown paper bag to hold the medical records. I'll line up at the endoscopy center on the sixth floor after picking it up.

At the same time, family members can queue up at the endoscopy center on the sixth floor in advance, because there are few people doing general anesthesia gastroscopy, few people queuing at the place where medical records are built, and there are many people in the endoscopy center (ordinary gastroscopy).

Arrive at the gastroscope center on the 6th floor, queue up at the triage desk, and give your big medical records and materials to the nurse. The nurse will ask if you have had a gastroscope before, and your big medical record will be left at the triage desk. When your name is called, you can go directly to the observation room.

Ordinary gastroscope and painless gastroscope will be arranged separately and called separately. An ordinary gastroscope will give you the anesthetic (lidocaine hydrochloride) in your throat at that time and tell you to drink it. The painless gastroscope will wait until everything is arranged before giving you an anesthetic in your throat. So I think painless service is really much better.

Family members enter the observation room with you. First, fill in the "Inspection Exemption Confirmation Form", which will be signed by patients and their families. The doctor in green will tell you to take off your shoes and coat, lie on the push bed, insert a indwelling needle in your hand and inject normal saline.

Lie down and wait. It's your turn when the last person has finished eating. You can talk to your family and doctors. It's almost time. The doctor will prescribe lidocaine hydrochloride for you, insert a straw and drink slowly. The doctor advises you to hold it in your mouth for ten seconds, and then drink it slowly. Your mouth and throat will gradually become numb, and it will be more difficult to swallow saliva. This medicine can last for about 2 hours, so don't worry about drinking it early.

When the last person finishes, there will be a "Ding Dong" in the observation room. The doctor and the nursing union will push your bed to the door of the operating table and wait. After the last person came out, you were pushed in.

The attending doctor and anesthesiologist will ask you some basic questions, such as height and weight, and why you are doing gastroscopy. The attending doctor will help you lie on your side, put a pillow on your back, put something like a "flaring device" on your mouth, and insert an oxygen tube straw into your nose. The anesthesiologist will inject the mixed anesthetic into the infusion tube and tell you that the anesthetic will take effect in a while.

Then wait 1 minute or so, and you will feel that your vision starts to jump up and down, and you will fall asleep in a daze ... I feel nothing when I check.

I woke up in the observation room. I don't feel anything in my throat. Just like before I was pushed in. I looked at the time, and my inspection time was about 20 minutes.

The doctor will ask your family to pay for it. You can use WeChat Alipay (unlike checklists that require cash or credit cards). After paying the fee, the doctor kindly helped to get the inspection report.

If there is supplementary medical insurance, remember to ask the family members to take photos of all the documents after payment: prescription list, payment list and receipt of Rhizoma Coptidis. Because the doctor will take it away later.

The doctor suggested that you stay under observation for 10 minutes. If it's nothing serious, you can get out of bed and go directly. Don't drink water for 2 hours (it is said that it will choke), don't eat for 4 hours, and the diet is better with liquid food. Don't drive at high altitude that day.

The test report is a diagnosis that can be directly seen through endoscopic observation, and a biopsy (cutting a few small pieces from the stomach for biochemical test) will be done at the same time, and the biopsy results can be obtained after 7 natural days.

You can make an appointment with a doctor for postoperative diagnosis after 7 days, take biopsy results on the same day, and make a diagnosis on the same day.

The above is the introduction of the whole process, I hope it will help you!
